Who are we?
FISH is a homeschooling support group. Our goal is to provide a social environment wherein parents and their homeschooled children are having fun and developing close friendships to last a lifetime!
Our group is open to families that homeschool their school age children. Younger siblings are welcome. Our families are very diverse in the ways we homeschool, and we are here to support all forms of homeschooling.
What Does a FISH
Meeting Look Like?
We meet every Tuesday from 10am to Noon from September through May at St. Anthony’s School in Belleville.
We have structured gym time led by our gym instructor. The children enjoy basketball, hockey, soccer, and much more in the gymnasium or outside on the baseball diamond or playground.
We also have an hour in our room. This time includes many creative projects, crafts and games.
In addition to regular group time we have field trips, business meetings, mom’s nights out, and family fun days when fathers who have to work during our regular meeting times can come and interact with other homeschooling families.
Group Requirements and Dues
We require parents to stay with their children during group time, enabling them to oversee their own children’s activities while interacting with the rest of the parents and kids in the group. We ask that our families make an effort to come every week to help foster friendships.
Our group has many things to offer. We strive to come up with new ideas and activities to help create a fun and exciting group which benefits the whole family.
In order to provide diverse activities our group requires members to pay dues of $20 a month per family. Our dues will be used for group expenses only.
Some of the great things FISH has to offer because of our dues are: the use of a room, gym and playground, gym instructor and equipment, room supplies, special guests, and paid field trips.
